How
would you like to design the large digger shown in the image
above? That's typical of what engineers do! North Seattle Community College offers a sequence of Engineering Transfer courses for Mechanical, Electrical, and many other enginering departments. What is Engineering? "Engineering is the science and art of applying scientific and mathematical principles, experience, judgment, and common sense to design things that benefit society. Engineers are fascinated by questions of how and why things work. They use their training in mathematics, physics, and chemistry to understand the physical world and develop creative solutions to societies complex needs." Quoted from University of Washington Diversity and Student Services. See their website for good descriptions of engineering disiplines. Entrance into the Engineering Transfer program begins with MAT 124 (Calculus with Analytic Geometry II) and PHY 201 (Engineering Physics). You can then take a sequence of three mechanical engineering courses, and one electrical engineering course. |
