What
is the difference between Computer
Science and Computer
Engineering? "Computer engineers design and implement computer hardware and software systems to solve a variety of problems in such diverse areas as communications, manufacturing, robotics, computer graphics, databases, and many others. A computer engineer might be involved in fundamental research, hardware design and fabrication, software creation, or systems integration." ( quoted from University of Washington Diversity and Student Services ). Computer Engineers are engineers, so they must take a full sequence of calculus (MAT 124-126) and calculus-based physics( PHY 201-203). See the spectrum diagram. Check out the new Computer Engineering Degree from UW Tacoma! Computer Scientists are described on the Computer Science page. |
